Music in Firies

‘Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.’

Here in Firies National School music is an integral part of our school life.

1st to 6th class learn the tin whistle and perform at various events throughout the year.

3rd and 4th Classes are learning the ukulele. Our tutor, Caroline joins us from Music Generation every Thursday. We are really enjoying the lessons.  Check out some of our recent performances. https://fb.watch/xPm4Xu1XYN/ . https://www.facebook.com/reel/1485968888763070 .

Firies National School is delighted to host outreach music lessons in partnership with the local Comhaltas branch Sliabh Mish. These lessons take place weekly in the evenings and cater to a variety of musical interests.

A wide range of instruments is available, including tin whistle, accordion, flute, banjo, guitar, keyboard and mandolin.

If you are interested in learning an instrument, please contact Cailín O’Shea, Secretary of Sliabh Mish Comhaltas, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
