Firies Student Council

The student council of Firies National School play a very important role within our school community. The hard working members of the student council work closely with school management, teachers and parents. They also consult regularly with students in the school. This ensures that the ideas, interests and concerns of all students are identified and addressed. The voices of all children in Firies National School are heard loud and clear!

Here are some activities the Student Council have recently overseen:

  • Judging the ‘Christmas Door Decorating’ Competition.
  • Selling raffle tickets to help raise money for the school.
  • Teaching ‘Lámh’ signs to the whole school weekly.
  • Conducting regular classroom inspections to ensure electrical appliances are turned off when not in use and that the classroom is kept tidy.
  • Helping organise whole school events such as ‘Happy Heart Day’, ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ and ‘Grandparents Day’.
