The National Guidelines on Physical Activity for Ireland recommend that children and young people should be
active for at least 60 minutes a day every day.
By getting children more active, as well as reducing their risk of ill health as an adult, they also experience
the same immediate benefits as adults - feeling and looking good, relaxing and having fun .Being active is of
