DSC06428School Day

The school uniform consists of a green jumper/cardigan, grey trousers/ skirt/pinafore, grey/white shirt and school tie, grey/black socks, tights or leggings. The uniform is available in Tom Lyne’s of High Street, Killarney and other department stores. We would request parents to ensure that children wear comfortable and well-fitting shoes. Full school uniform must be worn on all days except on PE days (school track suit). Please ensure that your child’s name is marked on both the tie and jumper of their uniform/track suit to avoid a mix up.

Track Suit (PE)

All children must wear a navy pants, navy jumper and sky blue polo shirt. Only plain navy tracksuits allowed without logos or other colours.

If there are any concerns throughout the year please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher. This is best achieved through arranging an appointment.

Healthy Eating

Firies National School is a Health Promoting School, therefore we the staff encourage healthy lunches. Please try to include some of the following in your child’s daily lunch box: cut up pieces of fruit and vegetables, healthy snacks and water to drink.  Please go to Health Promotion area of this website to access more information.

National Education Welfare Board

Under guidelines from the Department of Education the school is under oblication to report to the National Education Welfare Board (N.E.W.B) any child who has been absent for 20 days or more. If your child is absent please supply the school with a note of explanation for their absence.

Parking/One-way system

The school bus has a reserved parking area, please ensure that this is kept free at all times. A one-way system operates around the school during school times - please enter from the Farranfore Road and leave by the Church.
